Have things really changed?…

Well in an attempt to talk with the new management team guess what we were told? You guessed it!

Clinton Stark made a similar request, but because of our condition as interim managers of Loreto Bay Company, we believe that a podcast (or any other sort of interview) would be best once a buyer for Loreto Bay is announced.  In the meantime we would prefer to manage all official announcements/declarations on Loreto Bay Company through Loreto Bay News.  Best, Frank

So things have changed but things haven’t changed! For now no news is news. I am definetly going to schedule a meeting of  for the homeowners in March during the homeowners weekend. We were also given this bite of news from the Homeowners regime. It looks like they are going to let the individual clusters control our destiny of the casas completed! That was a fast twist in there thinking. I will try and get more info about that  for a posting!

The New Begining!

Monday, January 19th, 2009
Dear Homeowners,
Loreto Bay Company wants to wish you a happy new year and begin 2009 with a commitment to maintain more consistent communication between the Company and each of you.

The purpose of this initial message is to inform you that as of December 31st 2008 the management contract of Replay Resorts has expired. We have now engaged Alvarez & Marsal Real Estate Advisory Services, LLC to serve as the interim asset manager of the project. For 25 years, Alvarez & Marsal has set the standard for working with organizations to solve complex problems, boost operating performance and maximize value for stakeholders.

We want to reiterate that everyone at Loreto Bay Company remains committed to the success of the project and to that end we continue to actively pursue new capital and/or a buyer for Loreto Bay. To further this effort, Cushman & Wakefield has been engaged to assist us in this process. At present, we are in serious negotiations with several prospective buyers and we should have important and exciting news in the next few weeks.

Our Loreto Bay customer service personnel will be available. Any questions or concerns may be directed to customerservices@loretobay.com.

In addition we have established a temporary informational website, www.loretobaynews.com, to help keep you informed. As we move forward with the development of the project, we will be posting new information on the site. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us via e-mail at moreinfo@loretobaynews.com, through our new toll-free information number 1-866-682-1856 (from Mexico dial 001-866-682-1856) and/or post your inquiry on our webpage.

Loreto Makes Strong Push to Attract Tourists

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Loreto may not be receiving as much attention as other increasingly popular Mexico getaways. In an effort to change that, the Loreto Visitors Bureau is launching an aggressive promotion in which your clients buy one promotion and get another for free promotion from January 1-31.

Throughout the month, every time a Loreto, Baja Sur visitor pays for one night, one meal or one activity at a participating hotel, restaurant, car rental or tour operator, the Loreto Visitors Bureau will pick up the second night, meal or activity, respectively. Additionally, guests who book a vacation package through Alaska Airline Vacations will receive a 15-percent discount when purchased online at www.alaskaair.com/vacations. This is the new Bureau’s invitation to discover one of Mexico’s most charming and intriguing destinations.

“In essence, every visitor during the month of January will receive every other travel purchase for free, courtesy of the Loreto Visitors Bureau,” said James Spano, the bureau’s chairman, in a written release. “We put together this program as a collective ‘thank you’ from the community and as a way to make discovering our destination and its many offerings more affordable. Even during this difficult economic period, travelers should not have to put their plans on hold, and what better way to help visitors than with a program that cuts their travel and vacationing costs in half.”

Particiapting hotels are Hacienda Suites, Loreto Bay Resort, La Mision Loreto Hotel, and Oasis Hotel.

Topics for the New Year!?…

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

Happy New Year to all you Loreto Bayers!!! I want to hear from you about subject matter. I want this website to be what we the homeowners want to hear about! Please if you can comment on any subject you want to know about. Please also take the time to rate the restaurants! http://nopolonews.com/nopoloblog/?cat=11

Loreto Bay has many hurdles to go through this next year. The largest is the one none of us have any control over, the economy! Others: finishing the Paseo with its new look and windy paths, opening businesses on the Paseo (or will there ever be?), the Posadas (or the lack of), the pools and the new feel they will bring to the Founders neighborhood,  AV with the beautiful canals and kayaks on them!  Then there are the Airlines and will they be able to use the new terminal soon?  These are the main things that come to mind but there are so many more stories. Nellie will be posting what’s going on with the other communities planned around us! If anyone out there wants to help write and post blogs please contact me at info@nopolonews.com! Let’s all hope that our dreams for Loreto/Nopolo exceed our vision. Good luck and support to LBC / Replay 2009 from Nopolo News!
